How to Use Scankaro
Scankaro lets you prepare the front and back of a document onto a single A4 page. Follow these steps from start to finish.
Step 1: Choose your input method
For each side (front and back), click "Scan with Camera" to capture a live photo, or "Upload File" to select an existing image from your device. You can also drag and drop an image onto the upload area.
Step 2: Add the front image
Use the Front Image panel to add the front side of your document. After adding, the image editor opens automatically so you can adjust it before proceeding.
Step 3: Add the back image
Use the Back Image panel to add the back side. The editor will open for this image as well, letting you adjust it independently from the front.
Step 4: Edit the images
In the editor you can crop by dragging corner handles, rotate using buttons or a fine-rotation slider, use auto-straighten to fix tilted photos, and apply enhancement presets like brightness, contrast, and sharpness. Click Apply when satisfied.
Step 5: Generate the A4 layout
Choose a layout — Side by Side or Top and Bottom — then click "Generate A4 Layout". Scankaro processes both images at full resolution and arranges them on a single A4 canvas.
Step 6: Review the preview
After generation, the page automatically scrolls to a preview of the final A4 layout. Check that both sides are present, correctly oriented, and positioned as expected.
Step 7: Download the document
Use the download buttons to save the final layout as a JPG, PNG, or PDF file. The downloaded file matches what you see in the preview.
Troubleshooting
If the crop does not look correct
Open the editor again by clicking Edit, go to the Crop tab, and drag the corner handles to redefine the crop area. You can also click Reset to start over.
If the photograph is tilted
Use the Rotate tab in the editor. Click "Auto Straighten" for automatic correction, or use the fine-rotation slider to adjust manually.
If the image is blurry
Try recapturing the photo with better lighting and a steadier hand. You can also use the Enhance tab to apply the "Clear Scan" or "High Contrast" preset, which includes sharpening.
If the document has glare
Glare is best avoided at capture time by changing the angle of the camera relative to the light source. If glare is already present, the "High Contrast" or "B&W" enhancement preset can help reduce its visibility.
